Univen Radio is celebrating 20 years of existence since its inception on 05 September 1997. The Community Radio Station is located in Thohoyandou at the Thulamela Municipality. The Station’s broadcasting radius covers the Vhembe and Mopani district municipality, Mutale local municipality, North of Kruger National Park on the eastern side.
Univen FM has been broadcasting for 20 years successfully and continues to serve its surrounding communities. The station strives for excellence in quality programming, contributes towards skills development and training and provides the platform for the community to address and understand issues of politics, agriculture, sports, gender, ethnicity, economic, youth development, women and children, education, entrepreneurship, religion and race.
The station has been on the forefront of imparting skills and work knowledge in the programme production, script writing, marketing and sales, presenting, news reading, administration, secretarial, technical, human resource, advertising, music, events management and journalism disciplines. Currently, the station is in a process of rebranding
